Well being piggy bank
My well being piggy bank contribution was early today. I couldn’t resist the rare opportunity of walking in the strange, comforting silence of snow falling in big fluffy flakes, serenely coating my familiar world in an unfamiliar way. It’s been a long time since the last time…and a very special communion in nature. So there I was, up before sunrise and off for a very crisp and fresh walk. It was rather more crunchy underfoot than I imagined when I first looked out. ‘Crunch, crunch, crunch’…it was like a mantra…no other thoughts bar the wonder of the snow falling in the orange glow of street lighting. I was mindful of my movement today. Having had an injury late last year, walking had been very painful and muscle imbalances had set in. Significant improvements already made to promote the healing with massage and other exercises, today, I took time to make each stride full, and complete, balanced and allowing a natural stretch as I went. Progress was good, steady and very enjoyable. Peaceful contemplation on the move! It was nice to give my mind a break from all the brain bashing it’s been having lately! So lovely to be out in the fresh morning air! I met a couple of early morning walkers and their lovely dogs, celebrating the uniqueness of the day! The Tesco lorry was struggling to get up the hill as the road had not been gritted unfortunately, but cars were tentatively making progress. Finally I arrived at the car park and yes, there was snow and on the beach too! A strange, but lovely sight. The gulls were not too sure and padded it like it was grass, hoping for a meal to pop up! Sun rising, the start of a new day! After a wander in the wonder I headed back up hill, big hill…but all good, and home for a nice hot cuppa before work. Wishing you a wonderful day whatever blend of well being piggy bank contributions you are making today.
