Reiki is based on the energy, love and compassion and works to facilitate the body’s own healing process.  Given that most illness is derived from a state of chronic stress, then the benefits from the deep state of deep relaxation and relief from energy congestion speak for themselves.  It is not a religion or a belief system.

Energy of the Body

It is widely accepted that the body is not just a “bubble of biology”, but has an energy component most often depicted by the aura around the body.  Reiki therapy is the channelling of Universal Energy, which I like to think of as unconditional love, directed to the client for the purpose of healing, through clearing energy channels that have become clogged with the impact of life’s challenges.  The benefits of Reiki can be felt on a physical, emotional or spiritual level or a combination of all three.

There are many aspects to the energy of the body which have been witnessed and worked with by people who actually can see and feel them very distinctly.  Probably the most talked about are the main chakras or energy centres of the body, the aura around the body and meridians as used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for acupuncture.

The Five Reiki Principles

 

The five Reiki principles are guidelines that everyone can live by, to promote a healthy, loving way of living. 

  1. Just for today, I will not worry.

For most of us, stress is a major issue in our daily lives. If just for one day we could try to stop worrying so much, we could all live more peacefully which in turn, will also bring peace to others. Not to mention, lowering your stress will also benefit your health! So just for today trust in Spirit, Source, God (or yourself!) and know that everything is going to work out just fine. It always does.

  1. Just for today, I will not be angry.

Diffuse the default to anger. Take a deep breath, relax, forgive and let it go.

  1. Just for today, I will be grateful.

See the beauty of just who I am now, what I have now and be at peace with gratitude in my heart.

  1. Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

Doing your work honestly brings more purpose and meaning into your life. When you do your work honestly and with purpose, at the end of the day you’ll feel good about yourself and more fulfilled about your work.

  1. Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

At the end of the day we will feel better about ourselves for bringing some light and love into someone else’s day, even if it’s just for a moment.

If you are undergoing medical treatment you must seek approval from your doctor prior to having treatments so that the doctor can take this into account as he/she monitors your condition.

Policy for Late Arrival

It is understood there are many circumstances that mean you may be late for your appointment.  Unfortunately that will mean that your session time will be reduced accordingly unless we are in a position to make allowances with available time, which is at the discretion of the therapist.  It is important for you to contact the therapist if you believe you will be delayed, which will be much appreciated.

Cancellation Policy

Again, there are many life circumstances that can challenge your ability to take up the booked appointment.  Providing 24 hours notice can be given to my mobile number (07810 374914) then this can be accommodated at no extra charge.  If you are expected by the therapist, all manor of preparations will have been made.  This will include heating the space, time spent preparing the treatment room,  materials and equipment to be used.  This all takes time and has cost implications.  In particularly busy times, when other clients are waiting to be seen, further loss of earnings can be incurred.  You are respectfully asked to understand that is why a charge of up to the full treatment price may be incurred.  Notice of at least 24 hours prior to the appointment is, therefore more beneficial for both client and therapist.  Thank you in anticipation of your consideration in this matter.
